Road Trip to Rising Sun
Lorraine and I took a road trip this weekend to Rising Sun, Indiana. It is a neat little town, filled with small art galleries, shops and quaint hotels along the river. Our primary destination was the Pendleton Art Center, where my piece, Ironglass, will be on display as part of the Rising Sun 3rd Annual Juried Art Show throughout the month of May.
We made reservations so we can stay over for the opening next weekend. We will have a river view room, in the 200 year old historic Empire House Hotel. If you are looking for something fun to do next weekend, meet us in Rising Sun!
While we were there, we took some time to enjoy the quilts on display at the Art Center. These were two of Lorraine’s favorites.

Broad Ripple Art Fair
I will be at the Broad Ripple Art Fair this weekend! What about you?

Featuring the works of more than 225 artists, the two day festival includes art, music, food and live demonstrations. It is a great way to kick off the outdoor art season. If you come by on Saturday, look for me on the “Beer Delivery Cart” (I will be driving it, even though they won’t give me any samples).
On Sunday I will be doing a demonstration in the Sculpture Studio most of the day working on a piece called “Connections”. It is inspired by my wife, Lorraine, and a networking friend, Hazel Walker. If you are at the Fair, stop by and say hi!

Second Biennial Iron Casting Symposium
October 9 -12 on the Grounds of the Artspark
Building on the tremendous success we had in 2006, this year’s symposium will be even bigger and better.
Bring sunglasses and stand back as students and professionals work with the hot, liquid, yellow metal. Resulting sculptures from the symposium will be exhibited in ARTSPARK. Oh, don’t forget to bring a little spare change for a t-shirt featuring the Iron Casting Symposium logo.

My piece is the first one to be poured in this segment.

Work to Eat … Create to Live
ABall Studio features the artwork and projects of Sculptor Andrew Ball.
As an artist I enjoy creating both decorative and functional pieces constructed from a range of materials including: steel, bronze, iron, wood, glass and tile.
I often enjoy working with recycled materials giving new life, purpose and beauty to things others would consider trash.
Feel free to browse, share a comment or share the page with a friend.
I hope to see you … On the fun road!
